Some of the missing photos

Some of the missing photos

These are the photos I done with the camera when i lost my phone with a good few more on it

Rough few weeks or so

Well I’ve had a rough few days or so >>>>>

My wife ,child and I were in a car crash a wee while back .The arse in front decided that it was a great idea to stop at a junction that was clear to go and we were slowing down so it was a small bump his car was all fine ours on the other hand was a right off and after everybody gets they’re cut we were gave from the insurance company £180 in total as  I was trying to deal with the situation in hand not one but three car drivers pulled over and told us it was a scam that was done often in that area

The bank screwed up the mortgage payment with the other household bills and we ended up skint ,flat ass broke to pay the mortgage payment off in one go as well as a tax bill we did have food in the house and had enough to get by with .I’m so glad at the start of the year I started a food store ,every time we go shopping I throw in a few extra cans or something in to the weekly shop  and slowly building it up it has all sorts in there at the moment so i had better get it put into a better order its got roughly about 1 week of food at the moment and my plan is to build it up to 3 months worth of food .In the day and age where if we want something to eat we can get it easily enough without to much hassle . Bosnians had to starve for days  till the U.N and I.F.O.R. got there to help and give aid back in the late nineties  there was some sites there I never want to see again ever

Went up to the woods last week to work on my hide area and got lost ,i wrote it up for you all to read plus I lost my phone .Well it turns up i brought a friend home with me called  Lyme Disease a lovely little fellow to bring back with you after a day in the woods at first i thought it was just a bite mark and at some point during the night I must of scratched it and it opened up at about 0230 hrs or there abouts I got a hot burning pain around the area bugger ! at first look it came across as cellulitis but the rash had stopped. I had put it down to me taking antibiotics I had in the house but thought it was best to see a doctor just to be clear ( or truthfully I was bullied into it by the wife )  It was him that told me the joy the woods full of deer and ticks had brought me ,so now I’m on DOXYCLINE for 14 days . The doctor last seen a case of it a few years ago in Southampton he had to go and look up what the hell to give me  and took a photo of it for his facebook or medical records who knows ? I am now in self imposed exile from the woods till its healed up a bit more

And today >>>>>>>>>

I had the nephew around here today he likes coming over to hang out and learn new skill sets I have him working in my shed we are cleaning up a few horse shoes and he has cleaned and painted his own one to hang in his room .If the irish are lucky and horse shoes are lucky image how lucky an irish horse shoe would be .The other thing he is making is a steam punk shotgun/blaster its a way to get him use to using hand tools and to do a fun project .Seeing as I had an extra pair of hand today we both went out to the tree that is blocking and trapping the phone wires in the area .My wife says her father is coming at some point with a cheery picker to help chop the branches down we’ve done the best we can at the moment the branches on one side have been hacked down and its the other side that causing some trouble to get to so every so often when I have a willing idiot to help me I climb up the tree and try to take the branches down that I can reach or are safe to do so ,all going well today I popped up easy enough cut some down and had a visitor arrive oddly enough who didn’t notice me up a half bare tree in winter I slowly came down the tree to met the guest all was going well till i got to the fence post ….so I step on to it as normal and went to jump down when I slipped I was glad i was holding onto the tree at the time (maybe were I went wrong ?) left foot went forward right foot went through the fence top and left shoulder popped out again .SO throwing my arm across my chest till it sorted itself out and hobbling in to the house I warned the guys not to tell the wife what had happened .Now a few hours later the bone on my leg has a dent in it BUGGER! all going well its a bruise and not a chipped bone or a non displaced fracture an I’ve had one of them before in the pass

So in conclusion its been a bit of a shitty time so far ,I WEAR A KILT THERE FORE I AM  !

Bug out hide

Well my day started good ,woke up(always a bonus) and got my bag ready to go and spent some time in the woods with AK  .I packed my sleeping bag ,axe ,folding saw ,gas, brew kit mess tin ,water bladder ,bayonet and camera  .My first aid kit is permanently on my bag and my EDC as normal (lighter ,torch , multi tool and  phone)  so suited and booted we set off the weather was not to cold and a light dusting of snow coming down but had the look of stopping by the way the clouds were looking

Off we pop a man and his dog in the woods to go to our hide that we are building up on the deer fields ,its a section that the deer like to hang out and relax as deer do chat ,smoke, talk with others about vegan issues bringing up the young in this day and age or did you see what so and so wrote on facebook last night .We got to the first marker point and the snow increased it was coming down heavy .i was later to find out it was a mini blizzard because of the hill in the area I dug into my bag to pull out a pair of eye protection so I could at last see without being blinded by the snow blowing into my face and eyes Ak was keeping his head down and leading on as normal at a few points he had to turn around till the swell pasted over us but we tramped on to our problems that was still waiting for us to walk into

After walking for about an hour I couldn’t see the marks I left to guild us to the hide but new the area to go to the deer fields off we continued as we were walking through the area and past ony 2 of my legends i use to navigate with . With the wind ,snow and the landscape changing every 5 min we kept at it till I seen a legend that ment we were in the wrong area so we thought  .I found a holly bush to climb under that gave us shade and some cover with the weather not doing what it should of I cracked open the coffee and a kit kat plus a dog treat for AK .That dog earned it so far and more was to come ,so coffee a fag (electric) and sugar ingested the next natural step was to have a shit in the woods .now AK has never seen me shit in the woods and this brought much puzzlement and confused looks so grabbing my “tactical bog roll ” and dropping my trousers to my ankles i squat down and watched AK stretch and bark at me for doing something strange that he’s not seen before so after wiping up and picking up a good healthy turd not to hard an not to soft it was placed into a dog poo bag (irony anyone ?) i decided to head back home as it was a bloody nightmare to get to our hide

As we turned from the holly bush we aimed up hill to find a main path to follow out by reckoning it should take us about 45 min to get to the path then home as we turned past a large tree i started to see the legends I had picked out to the hide YYYAAAYYYYY !!!!!!!!!! On tract and getting to the area i wasn’t a 100% sure where it was odd sounding but it makes sense to me   I slowly checked the ridge lines for  where the camp was being built .Damn hides bloody hard to see at times. The first few were a bust till i stumbled across it I dropped my pack and marked the area from the other end so i will be able to find it from the other direction a bit easier

We set about with the folding saw to cut the tree we had chopped down on a previous trip here  to get it to size across our hide area .The idea is to roof off a dug out and be able to watch the local wild life where I’ve placed it I have a badger sett the local deer and a few other things in the area that I will  be able to watch and take photos without spooking them too much . So far so good and easy drills all round the dog was happy enough watching my back as I worked. Having a dog there is a force multiplier in a number of ways .when working with dogs you keep one eye on the job and another on your dog if he acts out of sorts or starts in his warning tone you know to stand to and wait out for the threat or whatever comes up every dog has they’re own tell

So lifting heavy branches up and dragging them to the hide we now have the start of a roof .The dug out has enough room to sleep in and squat to observe the surrounding grounds plus where we can stow the gear we bring with us it works out to be enough room for me and AK to be comfy at night (we hope ) its not near any water as this would bring on insect problems in the summer no one wants to be lunch for a few hundred bugs when looking through optics .I stopped for 5 min to take a breather after moving another log and checked my phone

So I got back to work a bit more when AK’s tells were on the go by looking at him it was time to get ready to move out so i grabbed my daysack after 5 min of looking for it ,it was hidden by the fallen snow I’m glad I waterproofed the contents .One of the plans when i was out was to do a show and tell with the gear I had on me at the time but the weather changed all that  so I couldn’t take any photos going a quick check list daysack and tools I grabbed my camera to take a few shots and then slipped it back into the bag .We left camp and got onto a trail to lead us out about 25 min  the dog pricked up and gave the tell that deer was close by .We dropped down to the ground level and watched them strut about till they caught our sent i went to grab my phone to take a snap it was then I discovered I’ve lost my feckin phone ,well there is no point starting to cry over it so off we tabbed

Back home I admined  my gear and reported my phone lost to the phone company told my wife about our time out an she laughed about me having a shite in the woods with AK and his perplexed look .As I’m writing this up for here I looked outside to see that its raining so the snow is gone and my old phone is well and truly buggered unless the ferries have picked it up and calling the leprechauns  this is all for now when i get a chance I’ll put up what photos i have on the camera for you to enjoy

cheers from AK and the Evil kilt

The Armoury

Went to the Armoury in Wrexham on sunday (3rd feb)My battle buddy picked me up an we loaded the car up for the hour or so drive to get to the site .According to the satnav ended up in the middle of an industrial estate  slightly surreal moment of bringing war to the middle of a industrial complex of factories and garages but the sign by an old gate confirmed it

First and Only ,a company that has many sites up and down the country in all sorts of places .The armoury is an old world war 2 ammunition factory with buildings and 65 acres of some wild bush plus a river to play in or wash (please provide your own rock )

Image

The buildings are bare and have been made bomb proof so perfectly alright with pyro and smoke grenades in fact because of the layout the standard MK5 in the right place sounds a lot like a MK9 or an artillery simulation round

So suited ,booted and signed in I go to grab my M60 to discover my box mag was sat beside my lunch with my hat on my sofa in my house ,over an hour away BUGGER ! .I use my number 2 weapon an MP5 that I need to get a solid stock for at some point .Getting a safety brief on the do’s and don’t of the site is normally a chore for the experience player that we all have to go through at most sites ,but with Bongo doing the brief it was interesting the way he kept the group giggling at the right points and with bad jokes and general banter whilst driving home the points needed to be covered .No matter how many times you hear the brief its will always be complacency that will kill you in the end and airsoft is no different

CRY FOR WAR

So brief done, gear on and guns bombed up we lucky few walked in a fashion to the play area as we walked over to it the mud started to make it’s self known to all of our boots ,to be fair to the site with the UK weather being what it is the ground was expected to be rough

Image

The foliage  and trees although sparse in the winter months oddly enough, looks to be a challenge in the spring an summer (best ordering them half chaps soon)  We got the the RV for the game details 6 volunteers were required to be the uber cool tactical sas,sbs super ninja group and a man in a kilt our brief was to shoot the enemy till they got told to come to the uber squad .This was a great way to pick teams equally and fair so one sided never had the upper hand on the other as well as breaking up any clicks that would of tried to form .Nothing worse than turning up at a site and finding out the home team out gunned an kept to themselves defeating the joy of airsoft

Image

BONGO site operator

With a manic hour and a half of hunting the enemy i tagged on to two lads one of which knew the site very well took me around to the side of the engagement zone so we could try and flank then as the others went down the path to do damage to the group from that end cue the start of the mud fest with blast banks that looked easy to stomp up on normal days was a slip and slide of fun and would remain so for the rest of the day .As we got round to the start of the enemy camp we made our guns ready to bring the pain .Edging around the bank we crept up tight only to find the enemy was waiting for us the swine ! with a rapid bout of firing between us till we were zapped and bled out a quick trip back to the respawn area and off again to find another way to beat the others .Off and on we all at some point bounce back to the RV and slowly the two teams start to get picked as the returned

So reds against the yellows for rest of the day and a good mix within each group .Normally what happens now it the games are reversed but not at this site every game followed on from the last in a nice easy fluid motion part of the safety brief at the start was if you don’t know what you are doing find the enemy and shoot them that way you’ll work out on your own what to do Image

The banter was mighty between everyone and the very few things i hate about airsoft is some of the folks with huge egos I couldn’t find any at the Armoury every player was a gen person from the meerkat who wouldn’t hold her head still so we could shoot her till someone managed to flank her eventually, to the too wee lad who with they’re innocence and fun had me in stitches with the questions and comments As i with the rest walked to the safe zone I walked through a large puddle (remember the mud ) i step in to what looked like a 8 inch puddle and slide down to my knee just for the wee kid to turn round and pipe up “should of went to spec savers ” yep i found it funny as did the rest who heard it other gems were “why are you wearing a skirt ?” and after explaining the difference asked if i was on of Mrs Browns boy’s ,yep cheeky shits  Image

ImageThe price of entry to the game also included lunch, on some of the other sites I’ve played when lunch is included the price goes up to silly amounts for what you get in return .For what I’ve paid for my game i got a hotdog ,drink, coffee all day ,a chocolate bar and a bag of crisp not to bad at all .the shop that was on site looked to cover most gear needed or covet by all and looking at the shop website they could with a few calls bring the stuff that you need when you are there playing

I cant wait to go again to this site and play again with some funny and good folk
